Clear Day Thunder:  Rescuing the American Chestnut
Eugene V. Debs Hall will host a screening of Clear Day Thunder: Rescuing the American Chestnut (2023). This documentary film, commissioned by the American Chestnut Foundation, tells the story of citizen scientists and researchers working to restore this ecologically and economically important species.

CommuniTree

The CommuniTree Steward Project is a five-part classroom and in-field series designed to train residents how to properly care for juvenile trees. Taught by experts in the field of arboriculture, participants learn:

  • Tree biology
  • Stock selection
  • Pruning techniques
  • Maintenance of newly planted trees
  • Identification of tree species
